Cat Eye Liner Made Easy

Still struggling with cat eyes and winged liner? So are 99% of women.

I consider myself pretty good at doing my own makeup, but always have trouble doing the winged liner thing. Some days it will come out decent, other days I will use a half a box of q-tips to get the ends even.

Enter: Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper. This felt-tip marker liner is the shit. My brother’s girlfriend generously shared her liner with me while we were on vacation, and I was obsessed with it. The second we touched down in NJ, I had one of my very own.

It really makes the application flawless. The pigment is great – it is a pretty dark black which I love. It has great staying power too – doesn’t fade or smudge throughout the day. Doing winged liner in the morning before work is always daunting to me. I always worry I’ll mess up, have to do it over and be late for my bus. With this liner, I’ve been wearing my wings proudly all week!

Here are some of the looks I tried this week:

Small cat eye
I had a cosmetics industry event last night, and swiped this liner on at my desk using only a compact mirror. It's really that easy. I like starting the liner in the middle of my eyelid vs. extending it all the way to the inner corner. I feel like it makes my eyes look bigger.

Thick wing
This is me today! You are getting this post in REAL TIME haha.
Today I used two of my old stand by's - MAC's Cork and Shroom eyeshadows.
I used Benefit's They're Real mascara and of course, the liner.

A little piece of beauty heaven.

You can buy this liner at Sephora for $18. If you wear black liner often, this is a good piece to have in your beauty collection. If you're in a rush, swipe this on with a little mascara and you'll look crisp and put together.

Have you guys tried? If not, you're honestly missing out. You don't want to be THAT guy, do you? Didn't think so.

Until next time! xo
