New Tom Ford Lipstick in Pink Adobe!!

Go ahead, BASK in the glory of it. I got a new Tom Ford lipstick in Pink Adobe and god is it awesome. Is it worth the almost $50? Yes. It really is. It's like silk on your lips. The shade is more of a brownish pink which I love for fall. I will post photos soon of me wearing it!

Tria Hair Removal Laser - The Beginning of my Journey

I finally got my TRIA LASER! For those of you living under a rock, a few sentences about the Tria and its claims:

“The Tria Hair Removal Laser is the first and only laser for hair removal available for at-home use. The Tria Laser uses the same laser technology professionals use in-office for permanent results, at a fraction of the cost. See results with just 2 treatments; and imagine permanent freedom from endless shaving and waxing in as little as 6 months.” From the Tria website.

So those are some pretty big shoes to fill huh? Let me explain why I decided to drop a few hundo on this crazy laser. 2 people very close to me have been using it for months, and have seen fantastic results. One says that she doesn’t have to shave her legs at all anymore. Can you IMAGINE? The other said it was the best beauty investment she ever made, and she couldn’t imagine not buying it. Just the thought of never having to shave again was enough for me to throw down my Amex and get one.

Now I knew it wouldn’t be easy – it’s time consuming, sometimes uncomfortable, and the device needs to be charged quite a bit. I read some reviews online, and people say that it hurts a little bit – like a rubberband snapping against your skin. There are settings 1-5, 5 being the most intense, so you can adjust the laser to make yourself more comfortable. Umm let me tell you – I’m no wuss, but this thing STUNG!! I thought I could take it, and started off with a 4 on my lower legs and SNAP! The laser made me jump, I didn’t expect it to hurt! But beauty is pain I guess, right? My friend told me to use a lower setting so it wouldn’t hurt (what a normal person would do) but I’d rather all the hair go away faster so I’ll just torture myself for now hahaha. You have to wait 2 weeks in between treatments, so I can rest easy until then. The semi annoying thing about Tria as I mentioned, is the battery power (or lack there of). It would be easy to just devote a few hours to TRIA yourself – arms, legs, wherever else your heart desires on your body. But that’s impossible, considering you have to charge it frequently. I did my lower legs only, and it was already out of power. The charging takes about 1.5 hours.

So it’s not perfect, but I’m still glad that I made the investment! I’m going to do my best to chronicle my Tria experience. I’ve found that there aren’t a ton of reviews out there yet, so I will do my best to bring you on this hairless journey with me. I've only done one treatment so far, so I haven't seen any results yet. More to come soon, hope everyone is having a great week!

Quest for the Everyday Lipstick - MAC's Plink

Everyone could use an "everyday" lipstick, right?

After my love affair with every bright lipstick under the sun, I've decided to settle down and find a lipstick shade that I can wear all the time. First up - MAC's Plink. Looking at it in the tube, I thought this shade would be my everything. Unfortunately, it was my NOTHING. I mean it's fine I guess, I just don't think it does anything for my skin tone. It almost looks like i'm wearing nothing on my lips, and I feel like it makes me look washed out - not cute. I've read that so many bloggers love Plink, but I just don't love it on myself. I've tried wearing it on several occasions to no avail. Sigh. This one might be retired to my makeup graveyard.

The quest continues...

What is your go-to lipstick shade? Suggestions?

It's a Rock Star Kinda Morning...

Happy Friday makeup loves. This day couldn't come soon enough! Hope everyone enjoys their weekend! xoxo

The Day Moroccanoil Light Changed My (Hair's) Life

My friend’s momma, Fran, is a fierce hair stylist and has her own salon. If you live in PA and want your hair to look kick ass, go to Design Hair Studio (Philipsburg, PA 16866)! A few weeks ago, my friend came home with a sample of Moroccanoil Light that her mom had given her and told me to try it. I heard a ton of good things about the original Moroccanoil, but always feared that it would weigh my hair down and make it look greasy – a lot of products do that to my fine hair.

So there it sat, the little sample bottle of Moroccanoil Light in my bathroom for a week. I finally tried it this morning, and was blown AWAY at the transformation of my hair. I can’t stop touching it. Not only is it silky smooth, but it’s shiny, not frizzy whatsoever and TAME. I’m stunned that a tiny amount of this product can change how my hair looks.

Because I color my hair so much, it’s usually coarse, dry and sometimes a bit frizzy. I did find that It’s a 10 spray helped to detangle my hair, but after using a blow dryer and straightener almost every day my hair was screaming for help. This one use has me convinced that I am going to the store and buying the full sized version of Moroccanoil Light. I was so obsessed that I made my fiancĂ© touch my hair. “See?! Feel it!!!” I screeched at 8am this morning. He even agreed that the hair makeover was amazing. You only need a pea-sized amount – too much and it will weigh your hair down. But god does it make a dramatic difference!

If you have similar hair concerns as me, believe me, you owe it to yourself to try this out if you haven’t already!! Hope everyone is having a good week, Friday is so close! =)

The Return of...Hair Mascara?

So as I just Tweeted, I was walking through Sephora when I spotted...hair mascara. Now, hair mascara and I have had what you would call an embarrassing history. Looking back on my basketball years, many photos would show me in my blue jersey...with blue streaks in my blonde hair. At the time, I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Hey! A way to express myself! I'm such a rebel! Then when the harsh reality set in that hair mascara was no longer cool, the photos reminded me of that. Again and again.

So I guess what i'm struggling with here, is I don't take the Sephora customer for a hair mascara person. Are tweens shopping at Sephora? Or, if chicks my age want a "pop of color" will they reach for hair mascara? I guess time will tell if we see it popping up on blogs everywhere. Such a funny walk down memory lane, and if I find the photos of me with a blue head, I will post them for everyone else's enjoyment because I'm awesome like that.

In other news, Greg and I are getting married in a year! I'm sure the time will fly by, as everyone keeps telling me. I'm beyond excited, got my wedding dress already (eeeee!!!) and cannot wait to continue with the wedding planning. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend, and I will leave you with this dopey photo of us:

At a friend's wedding. Photo booths are hilarious.
