Safe to say I LOVE these 24 Hour Infallible shadows! I have a gold color that I wear all the time, it’s a great staple. The texture is a mix between a cream and a powder shadow, and it really has great lasting power. Just throw some primer on that eye, swipe on the shadow with your finger tip and it will not crease on you whatsoever. The texture is velvety and very easy to work with. I liked the gold so much that I wanted another color. I had the dark green one in my hand, but put it back because it reminded me of bad 80’s movie makeup. I saw Eternal Black and grabbed this one instead. I am always looking for a great smoky eye shade, so I took the plunge.
The black combined with the sparkles is seriously gorgeous. It gives you that sexy, smoky eye appeal with the a little fun to it. I love how flawless and easy it was to apply, much like the gold I already own. I didn’t use my finger tip for this one though, I used a flat eye shadow brush so I could have more control over where the shadow went. It worked great, and I even winged out the shadow a bit for some extra drama. The flat brush is the way to go – I tried applying this shadow with a fuller, bushier brush at another time and it was a disaster – since it’s a long wearing shadow that’s dark, it was tough to remove it from my upper lid where it went by mistake. I’m not great at blending, so the flatter brush made it easy.
Another thing to be careful of – when you initially apply it, there will be a little fall out from the sparkles, which can be expected from most sparkly shadows. I would suggest putting a tissue under your eye to catch the unwanted glitter, or simply do you eye makeup first and use makeup remover if glitter gets on your face. After that, there shouldn’t be any fallout throughout your night.
The shadow was a bit hard to capture on camera, you can’t fully appreciate how pretty it is from the photos! I thought about throwing on some black liner in my waterline, but decided against it – this shadow and two coats of mascara is all you need!
