I finally got my TRIA LASER! For those of you living under a rock, a few sentences about the Tria and its claims:
“The Tria Hair Removal Laser is the first and only laser for hair removal available for at-home use. The Tria Laser uses the same laser technology professionals use in-office for permanent results, at a fraction of the cost. See results with just 2 treatments; and imagine permanent freedom from endless shaving and waxing in as little as 6 months.” From the Tria website.
So those are some pretty big shoes to fill huh? Let me explain why I decided to drop a few hundo on this crazy laser. 2 people very close to me have been using it for months, and have seen fantastic results. One says that she doesn’t have to shave her legs at all anymore. Can you IMAGINE? The other said it was the best beauty investment she ever made, and she couldn’t imagine not buying it. Just the thought of never having to shave again was enough for me to throw down my Amex and get one.
Now I knew it wouldn’t be easy – it’s time consuming, sometimes uncomfortable, and the device needs to be charged quite a bit. I read some reviews online, and people say that it hurts a little bit – like a rubberband snapping against your skin. There are settings 1-5, 5 being the most intense, so you can adjust the laser to make yourself more comfortable. Umm let me tell you – I’m no wuss, but this thing STUNG!! I thought I could take it, and started off with a 4 on my lower legs and SNAP! The laser made me jump, I didn’t expect it to hurt! But beauty is pain I guess, right? My friend told me to use a lower setting so it wouldn’t hurt (what a normal person would do) but I’d rather all the hair go away faster so I’ll just torture myself for now hahaha. You have to wait 2 weeks in between treatments, so I can rest easy until then. The semi annoying thing about Tria as I mentioned, is the battery power (or lack there of). It would be easy to just devote a few hours to TRIA yourself – arms, legs, wherever else your heart desires on your body. But that’s impossible, considering you have to charge it frequently. I did my lower legs only, and it was already out of power. The charging takes about 1.5 hours.
So it’s not perfect, but I’m still glad that I made the investment! I’m going to do my best to chronicle my Tria experience. I’ve found that there aren’t a ton of reviews out there yet, so I will do my best to bring you on this hairless journey with me. I've only done one treatment so far, so I haven't seen any results yet. More to come soon, hope everyone is having a great week!
